Hey guys, here we are at part 2 and as i said the big why, alo inspiration and motivation:
So here we are, the goal is a lot more specific and gives you a better target to aim for, and something simple we use in martial arts is you can’t hit a target if you don’t know what it is..! Also we note that the original goal of “I want to lose weight” has gone; it was never the intended aim. Now this is like a strategy of peeling the onion, onions have layers (god bless Shrek), your aim is to peel the layers away as much as possible until you hit the truth of what you truly want and why you want it.
The big why is literally saying not only what i want but why do i really want that thing, sounds mysterious but hey it’s actually quite simple really.
WHY do you want the above goal?
“Err it’d make me happy…”
What was that thing I mentioned above? OH yeah, VAGUE!!!!!
Why does it make you happy?
“I’d feel better about myself”
Ok so why don’t you feel good about yourself now?
“Well I feel unhappy when I look at myself in the mirror”
Ok so why would that be?
“Well I feel like I will be unloved when I look like this”
Ok so why when you look as you do would you feel unloved?
“Well I feel that no one would love someone who is a fat, lazy slob who obviously doesn’t love herself”
Ok so here we arrive at the crux of the issue, it may not be as quick or as easy to resolve as this and may take a little more time but the principle is still there; the idea of the fact that the vague goal and vague reason why will produce only one thing; vague results!
Where as the persona who has a very good idea of what they want in as much detail as possible with a fantastic idea on why they want to do it with genuine emotional and logical reasons will always produce better results due to the Inspiration it produces.
Inspiration is an intrinsic or internal factor that literally inspires or compels you to achieve something, it tends to have an unearthly desire to achieve some goal, comes completely from within you and no force in existence will put you off from achieving the end result. This a whole different ball game to motivation, a term that is commonly used instead but not necessarily understood.
Motivation is extrinsic or external to you, it is temporary and lasts for only a short period and also due to the external circumstances tends to differ from one moment to the next. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying motivation isn’t important, we’re all human and we all need a helping hand or kick up the arse every now and then (all forms of motivation) yet if motivation is all you rely upon you’ll find that it will soon disappear and you’ll only get so far; a better way is to become inspired and then use regular hits of motivation to boost your own inspiration to achieving your goals.
So how to get inspired?
Well I mentioned it earlier Thoughts, Feelings, Emotions, Beliefs (TFEB) you have to ask and question what you think about the goal, how does it make you feel, and what emotions does it create within you and what do you believe around your chances of succeeding?
Difficult questions? Hell yes!
Worth it? Even more so!
That was part 2, I hope you’e found it enlightening and interesting in part 3 I’ll reveal the questions to ask yourself and show you how to achieve exactly what you want.
see you then.
